[144] 7. He who has driven away the army of the King of Death (maccurāja), as a great flood a most frail bridge of reeds, is victorious indeed, with all dread departed; tamed, he is fully quenched (parinibbuta), steadfast in self. Thus indeed the venerable Bhalliya the Elder spoke this verse.
