[210] 3. Having seen one aged, and one suffering (dukkhita) and sick, and having seen one dead, gone to the exhaustion of the life span (āyusaṅkhaya), thereupon I departed and went forth, abandoning sensual pleasures (kāma) that delight the mind. The Elder Māṇava.
