[302] 5. One should not exalt oneself, nor should one belittle others; one should not demean one gone to the far shore (pāragata), nor speak against him; #1 There is also the reading "yassindriyāni." nor should one sound one's own praise in the assemblies — free from restlessness, of measured speech, true to good vows. For one who sees the meaning that is most subtle and refined, who is skilled in thought and humble in conduct, who has cultivated the virtue (sīla) of the Buddha, Nibbāna is truly not hard for him to obtain.
