[1040] When, in the stream of the Gaṅgā, a boat had been seized by a fierce nāga with designs upon the humans, you set it free by main force, overpowering him. That ancient practice of vow and virtue (vatasīlavatta) of yours I recollect, as one just awakened from sleep.
