Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Jātaka (1) · Vol. 27 · Section 1113

[1113] "O khattiya, I was a slave-woman of an Ambaṭṭha family, a servant sent about at others' bidding; and I was restrained, living by Dhamma, virtuous, and of views free from evil. Then I gave the food that had been served out [as my share] to a bhikkhu as he walked [for alms]; glad and joyful in mind (citta), I myself [gave it]— such for me is the fruit of that deed (kamma)."
