Cetiyarājjātaka

[1164] When a man speaks falsehood, the deities (devatā) depart from him, his mouth emits a putrid stench, and he falls from his own station — whoever, though he knows, when asked a question answers it otherwise. For if you speak the truth, O king, then be as you were before; but if you speak falsely, O king, then stand upon the earth, Cetiya.
