[1475] Whoever is of humble bearing (nivātavutti) toward the whole world — [# 1. Ma: jarayetha. 2. Ma: sarīsapā. — Siam Raṭṭha edition footnote recording Burmese-edition variant readings for the adjacent verses] toward women and men, together with children — patient (khantā) of ill-spoken words, uttering no offensive speech (appaṭikūlavādī): such forbearance (adhivāsana) they have declared to be a blessing (sotthāna).
