[1640] Though one should give the rice and barley of the whole earth, the cattle and horses,¹ the slaves and servants — even having given² all that, it is not enough for a single person: knowing this,³ let one fare evenly. ¹ Burmese ed.: gavassaṃ. ² Burmese ed.: datvā ca ("and having given"). ³ Burmese ed.: vidvā.
