[1685] "Surely indeed you desire my welfare, in that you admonish me;
I shall do just so — all that has been spoken by those who seek my good.
This very day I cease;
nor would I do any evil deed;
nor is there anything of mine that may not be given;
nor will I drink water without having given.
And as I give thus at all times,
my riches here, O Vāsava, will waste away;
thereafter, O Sakka, I shall go forth,
having abandoned sensual pleasures just as they are."
