Dūtajātaka

[1784] And if one should know a thing to be beyond one's own power, [and know,] "These are not for the coming of happiness to me," the wise one, all alone, should endure piercing pains, having regard for truth (sacca) and for moral shame and moral dread (hiri-ottappa).
