[1905] Having gained a friend, a companion, the wise man —
he enjoys his sons, his cattle, or his wealth;
and I, my sons, and my husband
are all united through the kindly sympathy (anukampā) of friends.
The advantage gained by one who has a king and by one who has heroes —
for these indeed come to be for one endowed with companions;
he, possessed of friends, possessed of fame, exalted in himself,
rejoices in this world too, O desirer of pleasures.
