[1954] "There was a strong bull belonging to a villager, with a swaying hump, endowed with beauty and strength. It trod upon me; angered, I bit it, and, overwhelmed by suffering (dukkha), it met its death. Then the people, coming out from the village, wept and wailed, and departed. Therefore I keep the Uposatha (posatha): may anger (kodha) never come to me again!"
