[2014] Some, household priests (purohita) in the villages, eat alms-food laid up in store; many consult them — gelders of beasts and branders are they. Even livestock are slaughtered there — buffaloes, swine, and goats; the equals of cow-butchers, O king, yet these too are called brahmins. They have been declared to you, great king; shall we resort to such as these?
