[2041] Having said this, the seer (isi) Mātaṅga, whose striving was truth (saccaparakkamo), departed through the sky while the brahmins looked on. #1 Sī., Yu. read: *yesu vasanti*. 2 M. reads: *kvettha*. 3 In all editions *upajjhāyo* is found; in the commentary, however, it appears as *upavajjho*. M.: *upajjhāyo ca*. 4 Also written *gaṇḍakucchi*. 5 M. reads: *khalayātha*.
