[2063] Life is led onward; short is its span; for one led on by aging there are no shelters. O Pañcāla, carry out my word alone: do not do deeds that yield suffering (dukkha). Life is led onward; short is its span; aging destroys the beauty of a man as he grows old. O Pañcāla, carry out my word alone: do not do the deed that leads to rebirth in hell (niraya).
