"Who here indeed, when asked, would not give wealth —
even what is most excellent, even his own dearly beloved?
Come then, all you Sivis here assembled:
behold today my divine eyes!
Through the wall, through the rock, overpassing the mountain,
they exercise sight for me a hundred yojanas all around.
There is nothing (at all) higher than giving (cāga) in the life of mortals here:
#¹ Sī. vaṇibbino; Yu. vanibbino. ² Ma. dibbāni.
having given the human¹ eye, (I) have gained the eye superhuman.
Seeing this too, O Sivis, give gifts (dāna) and enjoy!
And having given and enjoyed according to your means,
blameless, attain the heavenly place (sagga)."
