The prosperer of Kāsi (Kāsivaḍḍhana) beheld the ground inlaid with gold,
and palaces made of gold, spread over with slabs of beryl (veḷuriya).
That king entered the celestial mansion (byamha), the dwelling of Campeyya,
resembling the sun in its splendour, radiant as burnished bronze and lightning.
Overspread with trees of many kinds, astir with fragrances of many kinds —
the King of Kāsi entered that dwelling of Campeyya.
When the King of Kāsi had entered the dwelling of Campeyya,
celestial instruments sounded forth, and the nāga maidens danced.
That [mansion], frequented by the company of nāga maidens,
the King of Kāsi, gladdened, ascended;
he sat down upon a seat made of gold,
furnished with a backrest, anointed with the essence of sandalwood.
