[2290] Garlanded and turbaned, wearing bracelets and armlets, anointed with sandalwood, by night you take your pleasure; by day you experience painful feeling (vedanā). Sixteen thousand women are these attendants of yours; such is your great power — astonishing, hair-raising! What evil deed (kamma) did you do in the past, bringing suffering (dukkha) upon yourself, having done which among human beings you devour the flesh of your own back?
