[2339] Right there, not far away, lies that lotus pond — delightful, with good fords and abundant water, all in blossom, frequented by swarms of bees: it is here that the elephant king bathes. His head bathed, wearing a garland of blue lotuses (uppala), all white, with limbs whose skin is like the white lotus (puṇḍarīka), rejoicing he goes to his dwelling, placing before him his chief queen Sabbabhaddā.
