[2397] Thus indeed did the Supaṇṇa release this utterance; and, alighting upon the ground, the bird released the two-tongued one: "Freed this day, you have passed beyond all perils; be guarded by me on land and in water. As a skilled physician is to those stricken with sickness, as a cool lake to the thirsty, as a house to those afflicted by frost and cold, even so am I a refuge to you."
