[2437] "Truly of unrighteous nature is this one who lives the holy life (brahmacārī)!
You speak flattery to the khattiya;
while the manifold populace is being plundered,
you do honor to a king who deserves the utmost reproach.
If, O brahmin, this were a realm well ruled,
a country prosperous, joyful, and serene,
then the crows, having eaten the offering (bali) and the choicest lumps of food —
those ravens would not devour alive one such as I."
