[2490] "These, then, are the things of which my father Kassapa instructed me: 'Women are like the lotus (kamalā) — know them, young man (māṇava); know those who bear swellings upon the breast — know them, young man!' Thus did my father instruct me, as one who had compassion for me. But his word I did not heed — the teaching of my wise father — and so today I brood all alone in a forest devoid of human beings.
