[496] "Formerly, in the presence of [us] whose habit [was frolicsome play] (sīlavataṃ sakāse),
you used to play, leaping about (okkandikaṃ), in the hermitage;
come then, do your monkey-tricks, monkey!
We, [now] being of good conduct (sīlavataṃ), no longer take delight in that [behaviour of yours]."
