Uragajātaka

[717] As a snake casts off its worn-out skin — its own body — and goes its way, so, when the body is of no use, when the departed one (peta) has died, he, while being burned, does not know the lamentation (paridevita) of his relatives. Therefore I do not grieve for him: he has gone to that destination (gati) which is his.
