[883] "And whoever, whether toward friends or toward foes, toward his betters, his equals, or even those beneath him, toward one who does him good or one who does him harm, practices only kindly aid (saṅgaha), openly and in secret, and would never at any time utter a harsh word — I am his, both when he is dead and while he lives."
