Niḷinikājātaka

[10] "As I wandered in the forest in search of roots and fruits, I came upon a bear of most dreadful form; it rushed upon me, suddenly overtaking me, and, thrusting me down, it tore away my foremost member (uttamaṅga). This very wound of mine is eaten away and itches, and at no time do I find any ease. Your honor is surely able to allay this itch; being entreated, sir, pray do a brahmin this service."
