[1201] Both Nārada and Pabbata rejoice in approval of him; [Apparatus: ¹ Burmese ed.: *paridevasi*. ² Burmese ed.: *āguṃ*.] Inda and Brahmā and Pajāpati, Soma, Yama, and King Vessavaṇa — all the devas rejoice in approval, the Tāvatiṃsa devas together with Inda. Thus did Maddī of lovely form, the royal princess of glorious fame, rejoice in approval of Vessantara's supreme gift (dāna) — the gift of his little children. (This is) the chapter named the Maddīpabba — the Chapter on Maddī.
