[1236] "Truly, grandson,³ a wrong deed has been done by us — an act destructive of welfare has been wrought by me, in that at the word of the Sivis I banished one who had done no wrong. Whatever of mine there is here, whatever wealth and grain is found — let King Vessantara come; let him rule in the kingdom of the Sivis." [Page-notes of the Siam Raṭṭha edition: ¹ Ma.
