[17]
No firewood have you broken,
no water have you fetched,
nor even have you tended the fire —
why do you brood like a dullard?
The firewood was broken and the fire was tended,
even the warming-fire stood made ready by you, O you who live the holy life (brahmacārī);
a seat and water there were for me —
formerly you took delight in this, as one become Brahmā.
Unbroken is your firewood, unfetched your water,
unkindled your fire, uncooked your food;
today you do not speak to me.
Has something been lost? Or is there some suffering of mind (cetasikaṃ dukkhaṃ)?
