Cullahaṁsajātaka

Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Jātaka (2) · Vol. 28 · Section 175

[175] This I do not desire apart from his life; if you are content with one, release him and eat me. In height and in girth we two are equal, and alike in age; you will suffer no loss in your gain — exchange me for him. Come then, consider well: let your greed be upon us both; bind me first with the snare, and afterwards release the lord of birds. Your gain will be just as much when this request is granted, and friendship with the Dhataraṭṭhas will be yours for as long as you live.
