[196] "Whatever service is due to the best of friends,
that you have done for us;
beyond doubt we have won
the devotion (bhatti) that you bear toward us.
And yonder, surely, amid the vast host of our kinsfolk,
there is suffering (dukkha) among many birds
through not seeing us.
To dispel their sorrow (soka), we, with your consent,
having circumambulated you (padakkhiṇa),
may we go and see our kinsfolk, O tamer of foes.
Truly I find abundant rapture (pīti) from the sight of you, good sirs;
and this too would be a great benefit —
the reassuring of your kinsfolk."
