Ummādantījātaka

[27] Whatever human, while doing an evil deed (kamma), supposes, "May others not know of this" — beings see him as he does it, and so do those men upon the earth who are endowed [with attainment]. Would any other man upon the earth, indeed, anywhere in the world, believe you [if you said], "She is not dear to me"? And grievous would be the anguish of your mind, having given away the beloved Ummadantī and seeing her no more.
