Your father and mother would give to me, O prince, when you have gone.
The women of the harem and the young princes, the merchants (vesiyānā) and the brahmins —
they too, delighted, would give to me, O prince, when you have gone.
The elephant riders, the guardsmen of the ranks, the charioteers, and the foot soldiers —
they too, delighted, would give to me, O prince, when you have gone.
The country folk rich in grain, and the townsfolk, gathered together,
would give me gifts of tribute, O prince, when you have gone."
