[495] That deity vanished from Mount Gandhamādana and, out of compassion for the king, spoke these verses: "It seems, great king, that you have committed a crime — you have done an evil deed: three innocent ones, parents and son, have been slain by a single arrow. Come, I shall instruct you, so that you may have a happy destination (sugati): support these blind ones righteously — then, I think, a happy destination would be yours."
