[613] Whoever, in sensual love (kāma), desires whomever — even a caṇḍāla woman (caṇḍālikā) —
all indeed are alike; in sensual love there is none unalike.
There was one named Jambāvatī, the mother of King Sivi;
she was the beloved of Vāsudeva Kaṇha, and his chief queen.
The kimpurisī Ratanavatī — she too loved Vaccha;
[and there was] a human [who united] with a doe: in sensual love there is none unalike.
Come then, I shall go, O sālikā of sweet speech;
for this [word of yours] is a word of refusal — surely you despise me.
