[665] If you cut off my hands and feet, my ears and nose,
then Vedeha will have those of Pañcālacanda cut off in the same way.

then Vedeha will have those of Queen Nandā cut off in the same way.

If you set my flesh upon a spit and roast it to be devoured,
then Vedeha will have that of Pañcālacanda roasted in the same way.

Just as a hide a hundred palas in weight, finished off under the curriers' knives,
serves for the protection of the body, to beat back arrows,
so I, a bringer of happiness and a dispeller of suffering (dukkha) for the glorious Vedeha,
beat back your design, as one beats back an arrow with the hundred-pala hide.
