[690] I do not despise King Dhataraṭṭha, the glorious one; for Dhataraṭṭha is lord even of many nāgas. Yet a serpent (ahi), though of great power, is not worthy of my daughter; I am a khattiya (warrior-ruler) of the Videhans, and Samuddajā is nobly born (abhijātā).
