[696] That deep pool which you behold, ever-swirling and fearsome — that is my divine (dibba) abode, many hundreds of fathoms (porisa) deep. Resounding with the cries of peacocks and cranes, its dark-blue waters flowing from the midst of the forest — enter the Yamunā, do not be afraid: safe she is, true to her vows (vattavatī), and blissful.
