Bhūridattajātaka

[749] This have I heard from the arahants (arahant), the restrained ones possessed of austerity: "Having given gifts (dāna) here, givers go to heaven (sagga)." While you live, give gifts, if you have anything to give. This nāga is of great power, of fiery might, hard to overcome; with him I shall have you bitten, and he will reduce you to ashes.
