[766] "Sāgara, who, having conquered [the earth] bounded by the sea, raised up a sacrificial post (yūpa), splendid, lofty, wrought of gold, kindling Vessānara [the sacrificial fire] — he, O Subhoga, became one among the devas. He by whose power, O Subhoga, the Gaṅgā flows on to the ocean wherein the curds have settled — that Lomapāda, having tended the fire, the Aṅga [king] attained the city of Sahassakkha, the Thousand-Eyed One."
