Candakumārajātaka

[775] There was a king of cruel deeds, Ekarāja, in Pupphavatī; he asked the kinsman of Brahmā (brahmabandhu), Khaṇḍahāla the royal chaplain (purohita), a deluded man: "Point out the path to the heavens (sagga) — you, brahmin, are skilled in doctrine and discipline (dhammavinaya) — how men, having done deeds of merit (puñña), go from here to a good destination (sugati)."
