[795] "Do not kill us, O king (deva)! Give us as slaves to Khaṇḍahāla; even bound in chains, we will tend the elephants and horses. Do not kill us, O king! Give us as slaves to Khaṇḍahāla; even bound in chains, we will clear away the elephants' dung. Do not kill us, O king! Give us as slaves to Khaṇḍahāla; even bound in chains, we will clear away the horses' dung. Do not kill us, O king! Give us as slaves to Khaṇḍahāla — to whomever your wishes incline; even banished from the realm, we will wander for alms."
