Candakumārajātaka

[824] "Have me slain first; let not suffering (dukkha) split my heart. Your son, O king, adorned and handsome, is delicately nurtured. Come, my lord, slay me! Sorrowing, I shall be together with Candaka; make abundant merit (puñña) — we shall both wander in the world beyond."
