Vidhurajātaka

[958] For one who has come to the royal court does not, while still unknown, obtain honor (yasa); [the king's man should be] neither too bold nor too dull-witted, and never heedless at any time. When [the king] comes to know his virtue (sīla), his wisdom (paññā), and his purity (soceyya), then he places trust in him, and does not guard his secrets from him.
