Kusajātaka

Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Jātaka (2) · Vol. 28 · Section 96

[96] I shall not go from here to Kusāvatī, Pabhāvatī — I am allured by your beauty; I take my delight in Madda's delightful abode: having forsaken my realm, I delight in the sight of you. Pabhāvatī, allured by your beauty, utterly bewildered I wander the earth; I know not the quarter, nor whence I have come, so intoxicated am I with you, O you whose eyes are gentle as a doe's. O you clad in garments of gold filigree, with your fair girdle of gold, O you of lovely hips — it is out of desire for you that I have no need of kingship.
