[997] "I have dwelt in your house for three days;
I have been served with food and drink;
you have been a friend to me — I release you.
Go to your home as you wish, O one of supreme wisdom.
Though the purpose of the nāga clan should be lost, so be it;
I have done with the cause of the nāga maiden.
You, by your own well-spoken words, O wise one,
are freed this day from slaughter at my hand."
