[227] **"Tell of the distress, dear sir (vighātaṃ brūhi mārisā)":** tell of — that is, declare, teach, make known, set forth, disclose, analyze, elucidate, reveal — the distress (vighāta), the hurt, the oppression, the friction, the calamity, the obstruction. **"Mārisa" (dear sir):** this is a term of affection, a term of respect, a term expressive of reverence, a term expressive of deference — this is "mārisa." Hence: "Tell of the distress, dear sir."
