[316] **"For whom there is here no grasping of anything as supreme"** — for those Arahants whose taints (āsava) are destroyed, there is no grasping, no adherence, no clinging, no resolute inclination [holding] "this is supreme, foremost, best, distinguished, chief, highest, most excellent"; it does not exist, is not found, is not apprehended; it has been abandoned, cut off, stilled, calmed, rendered incapable of arising again, burnt up by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa) — thus, "for whom there is here no grasping of anything as supreme." Therefore the Blessed One said:
But those who wander about having disbanded the army,
not opposing view with view —
what would you gain among them, Pasūra,
for whom there is here no grasping of anything as supreme?
