[533] **All these dwell persistently in views** (sabbevime diṭṭhiparibbasānā): all these ascetics and brahmins are holders of views (diṭṭhigatikā). Having taken hold of, learned, grasped, adhered to, and become fixated upon one or another among the sixty-two views (diṭṭhigata), they dwell, dwell together, dwell in, and dwell persistently, each in his own view. Just as house-dwellers dwell in houses, or those with offenses (āpatti) dwell in offenses, or those with defilements (kilesa) dwell in defilements — even so, all these ascetics and brahmins are holders of views: having taken hold of, learned, grasped, adhered to, and become fixated upon one or another among the sixty-two views, they dwell, dwell together, dwell in, and dwell persistently, each in his own view. Hence, "all these dwell persistently in views." Therefore the Blessed One said:
Not approving the teaching (dhamma) of another,
one is a fool, low, of inferior wisdom;
all indeed are fools of utterly inferior wisdom —
all these dwell persistently in views.
