[706] **Whatever craving there is within** — **Whatever (yā kāci)**: all in its entirety, all in every way, without remainder, with nothing left out; this word "whatever" is an expression of total inclusion. **Craving (taṇhā)**: craving for forms … craving for dhammas. **Within (ajjhattaṁ)**: that craving arises within; therefore it is "within."
Or alternatively, the mind (citta) is called the internal — that which is mind (citta), mentality (mano), mentation (mānasa), heart (hadaya), the lucid (paṇḍara), mind, the mind base (manāyatana), the mind faculty (manindriya), consciousness (viññāṇa), the consciousness aggregate (viññāṇakkhandha), the corresponding mind-consciousness element arising therefrom (tajjā manoviññāṇadhātu). That craving is accompanied by the mind, by mentality — conascent with it, conjoined with it, associated with it, arising together with it, ceasing (nirodha) together with it, having the same basis, having the same object; thus too it is "within." Hence, "whatever craving there is within."
